Saturday Aug 1 Races
Nice breezes built up from the NNE, with lots of variation to keep life interesting. Many racers out to enjoy the moment. Penny got the most consistent results.

Al Sweeps KB July Races
We had gentle, shifting breezes mostly from the West on Saturday, July 25 for the keel boat and dinghy races. Everyone started at the same time, thanks to David L for timing the dinghies.
The following Sunday, there was too much wind, so sailors practiced screaming reaches, but there were no races.

Next Saturday BBQ @ Picnic Island
A select subcommittee of the keel boat caucus* is proposing sailing down to Picnic Island after the races on Saturday July 18 for a BBQ. If all interested sailors bring their own plates, utensils, etc, we can have COVID-careful picnic.
Boats sail away from the club before 5 pm. [weather permitting…]

Wendy and Roger get firsts
Sunday July 12, a mix of winds from the south made for interesting racing. There wasn’t enough wind to set a reach mark, but occasionally we got a good puff, and then again occasionally there wasn’t much wind at all. And of course, the wind shifted unpredictably from side to side. So, results varied among the four races:

First Keel Boat Race of 2020
Saturday June 27th we had a lively wind gusting up to 15 knots from the South West (mostly!). Five keel boats were on the start line for the first race, plus a few dinghies out to practice. Unfortunately, Dave’s tiller broke when he was doing well in the first race, so he had to retire without finishing. The rest of the fleet had a good time rounding the marks as quickly as possible:
