Youth Learn-To-Sail (July 11-15 and July 25-29)
Half-day sailing lessons for youth with Sail Canada and Manitoba certified coaches. Maximum six youth per session.
- Beginner – Monday to Friday (9am to noon) – Youth ages 8+ will get an introduction, or refresher course, to the sport of sailing in Optimist dinghies. Cost $195.
- Intermediate – Monday to Friday (1pm to 4pm) – Youth ages 12+ will develop their sailing skills in single and double-handed boats. Cost $225.
Adult Learn-To-Sail Weekend (July 23/24)
For all adults, sailing instruction 9:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday and Sunday, with a Sail Canada and Manitoba certified coach. For anyone wanting to learn to sail or to improve their sailing skills.
Cost includes two full days of instruction in the stable, two-person Zest sailboat. Maximum enrolment is eight. Cost $250.
All 2022 Learn to Sail participants in any of the above programs are eligible for a half price introductory family membership in the Falcon Sailing Club for the balance of the season. Members may use the Club facilities and sail boats. (Cost – $125 for the entire family)
Personal Coaching
For anyone who wants to further refine or develop their skills, we will offer 2-hour one-on-one sessions with an experienced sailor ‘mentor’ for $40 per session ($60 for first session for non-sailing club members, which includes a Sail Manitoba membership). South Whiteshell Women’s Sailing League (SWWSL) Women’s Learn-To-Sail
SWWSL is returning to offer its highly successful half-day sailing lessons for all cis women, trans women and non-binary individuals with Sail Canada and Manitoba certified coaches.
July 25-29 Beginner 2 course for those wanting to further develop their sailing skills.
Each course is given in five half-day sessions, either morning or afternoon, for a total of 15 hours of instruction. Maximum enrollment is 10 in each of the morning and afternoon sessions. Cost TBC.
July 18 through August 15: SSWSL will be running Monday mentoring and skill development sessions for girls, cis women, trans women and non-binary individuals aged 12+. This is a chance to get together with experienced club sailors for some fun practice and training sessions. Minimum requirement; CanSail 1 or equivalent level of sailing skills.
