Commodore’s Cup 2025

The afternoon started out sunny and windy from the west. The wind and gusts built up from the WSW, making for challenging and exciting sailing.

Three guests joined us from Sturgeon River in Lasers to add to the overall competition. Based on the rules governing Commodore’s Cup, the guests were not eligible to be counted in that race, but were welcome to join us in the racing.

Four Falcon Laser sailors rigged up and sailed out to check the conditions, but chose not to start in the first race. A mixed fleet of four Falcon boats competed for the Cup.

Jan and Deb were able to run three races, even though the committee boat would not stay put under anchor.

The evening provided a clear and dry moment for a great potluck BBQ on the upper deck.

Sail Manitoba is hosting an optional Optimist Training Camp at
FSC on Friday August 22, 2025. Registration for that day is via Checklick using the following link: Checklick Training Camp page.

Opening day rescheduled: Sunday June 8th

We managed to do a lot of work around the club this weekend, when the access to the Falcon area of the park was re-opened.

There is more cleaning, tidying and organizing to do.

Members are encouraged to come out Sunday June 8th.

There will be a sail boat repair clinic in the morning, starting at 10. Dave and Sharlene will guide members in making repairs to the club boats.

A BBQ lunch will be served.

The afternoon will be dedicated to finishing the set-up of the club houses, equipment and grounds. The more hands, the lighter the work.

See you there!
