Opti Provincial Regatta

All registrations for the Manitoba Optimist Provincial Championships
must be done online via Checklick using the this link:
The registration end date is August 21, 2025. There is no in-person registration.

9am to 10am – Check in at Club (lower club house) and rigging

10am – Sailors and RC Committee meeting

10:15am – Get on water

10:45am – Start of first race, second race to follow

12:00-12:30 – Lunch on shore after second race

1:00pm – Third to Fifth races

3:00pm – Latest start time for last race

4:00pm – Post-race snack

4:30pm (or earlier) – Awards

Friday / Saturday Aug 18/19

We had fun hosting the provincial juniour championships for young sailors in Optis and Laser Radials. Friday was a training day, and Saturday we held a regatta. The MSA coaches ran the training, and Paul from West Hawk helped us run the regatta.

Both days were windy — very windy later in the day. Fortunately, on Saturday we were able to run two races in reasonable conditions between the absolute calm in the morning and the strong afternoon winds, so medals were duly awarded on the basis of those races.
